"Good" Old Days

True story. It's a funny thing, remembering these relationships from high school. They were so, so very important to me, and now? Well, I certainly don't remember why we don't talk anymore, or why we stopped in the first place.
I guess I am just trying to say: Congratulations Mrs. Morey, I am so very happy you are happy. And also congratulations to Ms. Rosenthal, who was always going to do amazing things as enthusiastically as possible.

Blurgh

So it's funny, because when I started this page, I was in a super mood/place and it began like a : Hey! New apartment! I have great hopes for this new place in my life!
But
Then today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, man! My head was pounding and it was hot and whinewhinewhine. But my whole attitude today is just
eugh.
And so I began inking and writing in dialogue for this comic and now it's a comic about my anxiety about not accomplishing anything in life. SO NOTHING NEW.
I am excited about this apartment, and I do love where I am in life (95% of the time and the other 5% is just whining) so don't get the wrong idea. But that's what happens when you wait two days to ink a comic.

Tuesday!

I guess if you do two days in a row, it becomes kind of a days-of-the-week thing huh?
Those are avocados, btw. I could put avocados on everything.

That Is Today!

Sho' nuff! I am just as excited about Mondays as most normal people are about Fridays. Weekend jobs are vicious.
I need to post more things, more often, but hey! I am hella busy! Doin' stuff!
I'm actually working on props for a show right now, which is fun, albeit a little draining (monetarily and time wise). When I'm done this page will be flooded, FLOODED, with kooky little drawings I have been working on.
In the meantime, please appreciate my rendering of my mother's hand-me-down navajo top I am wearing today. It has all these little people and animals stitched in with embroidery thread! Looks like something that is 79.00 at Urban Outfitters. But no: hand-me-down from me mam.

Sleep

I'm the only model I have okay? The mirror is much more convenient then soliciting my friends for modeling.
Mostly this is a practice for me in cross hatching and shading with pen. It's something I'd love to be better with, as well as architecture and buildings in pen. BECAUSE. Because you guys; I found the best books at the used book store.
They are real neat.
They are by Victor Stienbrueck, who was a Seattle architect who was instrumental in the design of the Space Needle, as well as the movement to keep our beautiful market and (not so beautiful) Pioneer Square intact! He published multiple books of ink drawings of Seattle architecture that are AMAZING.
Apparently the little park at the end of the market is named for him! I had no idea! Learning is great!
Very cool book with beautiful sketches of the Market, as it was in the 1950's.

Ugh, they are both so COOL! I love them. Best find ever.
Don't be jelly, you can come look at them in my new apartment (Whenever I find it).

Apartments Continued

Today my friends, is a beautiful day. I went running this morning and the heavens opened up and poured rain and thunder on me. It was lovely and I was soaking and reminded of a line from a book I read recently.

"In Seattle we live among the trees and the waterways, and we feel we are rocked gently in the cradle of life. Our winters are not cold and our summers are not hot and we congratulate ourselves for choosing such a spectacular place to rest our heads and raise our chickens."

It is a nice cradle.

It's from 'The Art of Racing in The Rain.'

Or as my sister calls it, "That fucking dog book."
Do not judge her, she just hates dogs.

Love Letters

I think this is an excellent exercise for anyone; even if you don't draw, just to write down. I love so many things! It was difficult to think of the things I really loved on a day to day basis (And the things I wanted to draw). If my day had all of these things in it... Man! That would be the best day ever. Maybe I need to plan my next birthday around these things.
I also sound like an old lady: tea, scarves, old books, letters, cats! I actually don't particularly like cats, but bookstores with cats are always better. I guess I am an old soul as far as the rest of the things go. Or a teenaged girl as far as the chest hair thing. I think I watched too many Sean Connery movies as a child! (Too many Sean Connery movies. psh. That is not even a thing.)
What do YOU love?

When choosing music to put on this blog, I usually try to use whichever songs I was listening to while working. Today cracks me up, because I love the weirdest songs. I guess a wide range of genres. You tell me. Two very different songs, both very near and dear to my heart:
Guster: Always a favorite.

And...
What can I say; I like my coffee black, just like my metal.
Mindless Self Indulgence! It's for dancing!
Add to my love list: Any songs that include the "whip crack" sound. Classic.
