ETSY!

I forgot to tell you, one person who reads my blog,

My etsy shop is open and ready for your biznezz!

Acrylic on Reclaimed wood, finished with a thick coat of resin!
I'm real proud of them, and only slightly angry that all my clothes and belongings have resin all over them because I do all my work on my dining room table.

New Painting Day!

It was nice to have the night off work so I could just come home after the first shift and just... Stare at a blank page. I did that for awhile. And then I just started painting. I didn't sketch anything out, I just flipped open my (AMAZING) visual dictionary and found some bones to draw. And a fern. I wanted to try out a color palate I really liked, and try out some brush techniques like using sponges and cardboard. Turned out pretty well I think!

I'm honestly not sure if I like the pink/purple color of the fern, I think if I did it again I would do really poppy colors on the background, and then realistic fern colors for the actual fern. But I don't hate it! What you can't see is that on the edges of the canvas, the bones continue so you can see (some of) the rest of them. The top right is a molar.
Then I tried to sign my name at the bottom and it just ruined the whole thing so I took it off. Are you required to sign things? My name: KATIE just looks so juvenile and blocky. I need to find some pen name that looks better. KAG. KW. I don't know.

Etsy!

My etsy shop is open guys! I'm super stoked. You should be too!
I was a little hesitant to make an etsy store, because it almost feels like I'm just making things to sell them, which feels pretty commercialized. I was worried it would put me in the mind set of 'What would people like to buy," instead of "What would I like to make?" But not so! I am excited to make things more then ever, and inspired to create things, and I don't even care if you buy them! But I would! Because I like them.

So here you go!: http://www.etsy.com/shop/ChromaticKate?ref=seller_info

All I have for you today is this doodle I did about a year ago,
when I was  cast in The Country Wife.  Yay for wigs and neck strain!
