It was a bad day, which means whiskey

That's a pickle back my friends, and if you don't
know what that is... Well, you need to get thee
to your local divey bar and order one up. It's a shot of whiskey
with a shot of pickle brine. And it's delicioussssss.

Seized by insane jealousy/ anxiety that i am not doing enough.
Real cool: Lady at my school who has no idea who I am. #transferstudentproblems

The internet is great for illustrators because we're constantly inspiring eachother
but also
showing me people that are much better then me.
Ugh. I just want to be better.

I Was Being A Brat

I'll post this in better quality someday. Tonight I just took a photo of it.
I gave this to Trenten because he is just a great guy for putting up with me.
And my crying.
And my stressing.
I'm not saying he is perfect and never stresses out...
But I've never seen it.
So that makes him the better one: that hugs me and quizzes me on my exam and assures me that, although I am crying all over his shirt, he is not going to leave me because I'm insane.
Dude! It's just been on of those weeks.

And Then I Cried and Ate Pasta

Showers used to be really relaxing;
now I find I spend most of my time in the shower planning out my strategy for the rest of the day.
You know those days that just seem really fucking thankless?
Today was one of those days.
I worked and worked and pushed that stupid boulder up the hill, only to hear
"Push harder! Also, I think your grip is wrong."
The boulder is a metaphor.
I know this all goes back to my favorite saying as a child:
"It's not fair!"
But sometimes it's just not! And that's exhausting! Communism, man! Everyone works hard and gets exactly the amount they deserve!
There's no jerk bags running around bein' jerks and getting everything anyways!
Except that, there are I guess, and that's why communism doesn't really work.
I just want a gold star. I just want someone that I really admire and aspire to be like,
to pat me on the shoulder and say,
"Good work! You're really working hard and I appreciate that! You've made the right decision in pursuing this career path!"

Until then, I will be very clean and very organized and stressed.
I should be studying right now.

Things I Hate

I have stated many, many times that I am "not here to make friends." Just like in reality television!

But at the same time, it is supes annoying when we have to group up and I'm like, the weird kid. I don't think I'm ever the weird kid actually, there are actually legit weird kids for that. I'm fairly normal looking and don't dye my hair or draw anime. I do draw a lot of naked people in my comics. I'm like, jesus, we're in art school. Is that not a perk? Are we not supposed to draw lots of boobs?
No?
Maybe I am the weird kid.

My Week

Not the mention the severe mood swings, the peaks of hysteria and the overwhelming sense that I'm not doing ENOUGH.
I hate to admit PMS, because to me it feels like admitting (Well, not admitting but maybe conceding that PMS does happen) that women are weaker in a way, or that I'm crazy a week out of the month! I hate PMS stereotypes, and I HATE being asked "If I'm PMSing". But in all fairness, I feel crazy. And last night for dinner?
I had a bowl of ice cream and a glass of wine.

Like, Three Strangers Yelled At Me Today

So many people were mean today. So many people. Why do I continue to work in the retail industry for every major holiday? I spend every holiday trying to make it special for other, ruder, people. I just want to love the world and enjoy some turkey, but I will spend the day before Thanksgiving listening to people bitch.

So I guess I'm bitching right now? Sigh. It will be fine, and I will be happy to get off work. Last night Trent said, "If you could be anywhere, doing anything right now, where would you be?"
A bookstore of course, "buying five books".
So he drove me to Elliot Bay and I wandered around and didn't think about those people for an hour. And lo and behold, today I am okay and ready to go to work.
Love that man.

Whine Whine Whine

Ah the life of a twenty something in the city. I'm supes busy, as I'm sure you've assessed. But! I have the interwebs IN MY APARTMENT now. So I can draw things and send them to the computer without first visiting five places to get the internet that works reliably. It's such a luxury. More posting to come, promise promise.

Blurgh

So it's funny, because when I started this page, I was in a super mood/place and it began like a : Hey! New apartment! I have great hopes for this new place in my life!
But
Then today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, man! My head was pounding and it was hot and whinewhinewhine. But my whole attitude today is just
eugh.
And so I began inking and writing in dialogue for this comic and now it's a comic about my anxiety about not accomplishing anything in life. SO NOTHING NEW.
I am excited about this apartment, and I do love where I am in life (95% of the time and the other 5% is just whining) so don't get the wrong idea. But that's what happens when you wait two days to ink a comic.

It's Like A Sad, Sad Movie

This really for reals happened to me last night at Toulouse Petit! I wanted to cry/kill someone. It was like a sad commercial about a single person having dinner alone, then having some asshole put all their dirty dishes on the table. I feel like I have seen that in some romantic comedy somewhere. If you know what I'm talking about link that shit.
Ugh.
Erg.
Gah.

Singleton

Can you tell what's on my mind? I used to have a dating blog, but then it became very personal (Shocker) and seemed... Mean. I don't think I would make a good journalist. I wonder how everyone's feelings are affected by my writing and drawing... I'm not so cut-throat I suppose. In any case, being single in Seattle has been.. Not so fun. You have your Microsoft guys, your Boeing guys...I'm sure there are other occupations for men in Seattle, but I havent met them yet. OH! Baristas. Or Baristos?

Someday I am going to open The Stranger and there is going to be a I SAW U, just for me.
And then I will go on a date with him...
 and it will be horrific.
I'm not optimistic about meeting anyone anytime soon.
